Labor Unions and Police Accountability with Kent Wong

Introducing the RE-CONSTRUCTION.US podcast!

If you enjoy reading our essays and stories, now you can listen to interviews too!  Each week our new podcast will feature activists, artists, community and thought leaders speaking on a wide range of subjects.  Our continuing focus: making change in America and transforming ourselves in the process.

For our first interview, we are honored to have Kent Wong, a labor leader in Los Angeles and Director of the UCLA Labor Center.  Kim invited him to speak about the intersection between unions and the Black Lives Matter movement.  You will also hear about the current debate over whether police unions should remain a part of the national labor movement when they defend criminally violent cops.  There are exciting things happening in today’s labor movement.  Mr. Wong has been deeply involved in this movement for over 40 years has an interesting perspective to share on the current debate.  We hope you enjoy it.
